Portafolio Inmobiliario Strengthens Climate Action Commitment in 2025–2030 Strategy

Portafolio Inmobiliario has announced a corporate strategy that strengthens its environmental management by making Climate Action one of ten material topics in its 2025–2030 business plan.

Climate action in real estate means designing, building, and operating projects that minimize environmental impact while preparing for extreme climate events. The company’s approach includes decarbonization plans and climate risk management at every project stage.

“Our goal is to develop mitigation and adaptation actions that reduce emissions and strengthen building resilience — so our projects not only respond to today’s climate challenges but lead the way toward more sustainable urban development,” said Daniel Villafranca, Sustainability Director at Portafolio Inmobiliario.

Incorporating climate strategies is not only key for sustainability but also for reducing financial and operational risks. Anticipating stricter environmental regulations and meeting growing market demand for responsible development turns resilient infrastructure into a competitive advantage.

“In real estate, climate action is essential to manage rising costs — from materials shortages to higher electricity bills and maintenance expenses caused by extreme weather. It also addresses the housing vulnerability of our employees and communities, underscoring the urgency for sustainable, resilient solutions,” Villafranca added.

By integrating energy efficiency, sustainable construction, and climate adaptation, the company aims to reduce risks, strengthen competitiveness, and increase the sector’s positive impact on society.
