We continue to move forward, with our feet on the ground and our eyes on the future.

Daniel Villafranca
In 2019, we embarked on a journey that, although full of challenges, has brought us
great satisfaction and learning. We understood that in order to transform cities,
we first needed to transform our organizational culture.
Back then, our conversation about sustainability was just beginning:
we were taking the first steps to raise awareness among our teams and understand that sustainability went far beyond environmental issues; it meant rethinking the way we do business, how we build relationships, and how we generate value.
The progress reflected in our 2024 Strategic Report speaks for itself. This report allows us to generate data to make better decisions and compare year-over-year performance, which is business intelligence. But beyond the numbers, it reflects the effort of hundreds of people who believe, as I do, that transforming cities into more inclusive, greener, and more resilient places is not only possible but urgent.
In construction, we achieved a 74% waste recovery rate, aligned with our circular economy strategies, well above the global average recovery rate of 6.9%.
We also completed a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) for a construction project to identify the main sources of emissions from the design stage. Additionally, we measured the comparative water footprint of three types of construction projects and carried out climate risk and sustainable mobility assessments in the design stages.
In operational projects, we doubled the recovery rate compared to the base year: from 20.55% in 2022 to 42.71% in 2024, managing waste for more than a thousand tenants.
The efficiency of our buildings also improved: we reduced electricity consumption per square meter by 4% and water consumption by 27%; and perhaps most importantly, we fostered a culture committed to continuous improvement, with humility and without losing sight of what we still need to achieve.
We know that no company is 100% sustainable, but we are convinced that every action counts in the effort to build better cities.
That is why our commitment to the communities around us strengthened this year with more than 2,100 volunteer hours and the implementation of initiatives such as 146 entrepreneurship fairs, vocational tours benefiting more than 150 young people, and cultural events that offered recreational spaces for hundreds of people.
One of the most exciting milestones was the inauguration of the first section of the Rutas Naturbanas Escazú, within Avenida Escazú: 170 linear meters of urban forest featuring 4,480 native plants and trees, a playground, an art space, and furniture designed for rest and connection with nature. We also completed the conceptual Master Plan for the improvement of La Sabana Metropolitan Park, a collaborative project that reaffirms our vision for the city.
Internally, 14,422 hours of training, an increase in leadership positions held by women, and a 24% reduction in the accident rate show that the well-being of our people is a central pillar of our management.
