The Costa Rica Green Valley Free Trade Zone, located in the canton of Grecia, Alajuela, has launched a new platform for recruiting personnel interested in working in the Western region.

The tool can be found at the address talento.portafoliodetalento.com, and according to its creators, its goal is to "efficiently connect professionals with job opportunities within the project."

Roberto Argüello, director of Costa Rica Green Valley, explains that the idea is to "prioritize local talent" while meeting the "social needs of the communities surrounding the project." He stated, "The shared vision of Costa Rica Green Valley and Portafolio Inmobiliario, as a development partner, is to contribute to the sustainable development of the Western region through job opportunities and business linkages."

Data from the Costa Rican Investment Promotion Agency (Cinde), disclosed by the free trade zone, indicates that around 60,000 people commute daily from the Western region to the Greater Metropolitan Area (GAM) to work in companies established in that zone. Therefore, the developers aim to "generate more opportunities and improve the quality of life in the region."

How does the platform work and what types of jobs can be found on it? This is what the administrators of the business park, taking its first steps in the Alajuela canton, have to say.

How does the tool work?
According to the recruitment site administration, the page will provide access to updated job options offered by the companies located in the complex.

"Portafolio de Talento has been designed to be easily accessible and user-friendly, with an intuitive interface and friendly tools, ensuring a smooth experience for users interested in exploring new job opportunities," the administration stated regarding its launch.

Interviews and follow-ups for the selection processes cannot be scheduled on the same site, as each company will handle it independently. However, the administration highlights the value of the tool as a starting point for initiating these procedures.

What types of workers are in demand?
The initial job offerings, according to the free trade zone, come from the company DDS Lab, which provides products and services to dental clinics of all types and sizes, including dental implants and prosthetics, according to its website.

At the moment, as mentioned by the administration, this entity is looking for workers for technical roles in manufacturing and design, and even managerial positions.

"For the recruitment and selection process, interested individuals must register on the platform, create a detailed profile, and match the skills and requirements according to the job offers. The hiring companies will then review the profiles, conduct interviews, and carry out the necessary follow-ups," explained the entity.

High investment
Costa Rica Green Valley Free Trade Zone is one of the new developments in the Grecia canton, where the Evolution Free Zone complex will also be established (in the locality of Tacares).

The first stage of this business park, whose construction began in 2020, was developed with a total investment of $13 million, with a capacity to accommodate five companies in the life sciences and high-tech sectors.

According to La Nación, the first companies to operate within the zone would be DDS Lab and the Mexican company Nitrile Gloves, which manufactures and markets surgical gloves.

According to the developers, the idea is for the project to generate 600 jobs in the initial stage, eventually reaching a total of 1,400 positions.
