Electronic waste collection campaign will be carried out in Escazú

Do you know what to do with waste electrical and electronic equipment? On the last Friday of each month, a campaign to collect this type of material is carried out on Avenida Escazú, San José.

Equipment such as monitors, screens, small appliances, audio equipment, video cameras, electronic games, power tools, modems, dataphones, printers, light fixtures, hair dryers and straighteners, razors and more can be recycled.

This is waste known as WEEE (Waste from Electrical and Electronic Equipment), which requires special handling, since it contains highly polluting materials and even dangerous for the health of people and the environment.

“Sustainable cities are more circular cities and, for this reason, it is essential that a better disposal of WEEE waste is made, not only to minimize the contamination of soils and water sources, but also to make better use of the materials that could be reused,” said Daniel Villafranca, Real Estate Portfolio Sustainability Manager.
