Hospital Clínica Bíblica began the construction of a new medical tower, with an investment of $16 million, which will be located in the Aleste real estate project, in Guayabos de Curridabat.

The inauguration of this headquarters is scheduled for mid-2024 and would have the capacity to create 100 direct jobs, and additionally attract close to a hundred medical specialists, according to the company.

The total construction area of the hospital tower will be around 10,000 square meters (m²), it will have nine floors that will house nearly 50 medical offices, in various specialties and subspecialties.

Alejandro Mora Vargas, Financial and Administrative Manager of the hospital firm, commented, through a statement, that the new jobs will be a combination of administrative and technical personnel.

"We want to reach this sector (Curridabat) with a robust service network," said the spokesperson.

Hospital Clínica Bíblica works with Portafolio Inmobiliario, developer of Aleste, on this project.

But they are also preparing a new hospital tower, under similar conditions, in Heredia, both companies confirmed.

Arnoldo Estrada, Director of Real Estate Portfolio Projects, said that it is the Savia initiative, which will be located next to the National Convention Center.

“Savia will be an ideal destination to house part of the corporate and industrial sector of our country; as well as services for the surrounding communities; becoming a key project for attracting investment, job creation and economic development,” said Estrada.

The representative did not detail when the development of this new project will begin, nor the estimated investment.

Private medical centers accumulate several years of strengthening their service network in the country, and this 2023 has not been exempt from announcements of new investments.

Last February, Servicios Hospitalarios Latinoamericanos Integrados, the company that owns Hospital La Católica, announced a $65 million investment in the expansion of its headquarters in Guadalupe, Goicoechea.

The company's first step was to buy, for $36,750,000, one of the buildings it had been renting since 2015 from a real estate fund managed by BCR Sociedad Administradora de Fondos de Inversión (BCR SAFI).

"There is a growth plan that involves expansions, improvements and constructions for more than 48,000 square meters, with an investment of more than $65 million," confirmed Henry Zamora, vice president of the Board of Directors of the hospital company.

Last November, the Metropolitan Hospital, owned by Grupo Montecristo, opened the doors of its seventh hospital headquarters in Plaza del Sol, in Curridabat.

Additionally, he was working on the opening of a new headquarters in San Carlos, said Andrés Wiernik, general director of Hospital Metropolitano, at the end of last year.

Aleste Status

Federico Baltodano, director of the Aleste project, assured that the development has 100% occupancy in restaurants and shops for the first stage of the project.

There are shops that are pending to open their doors, but that are already confirmed. Baltodano mentioned the restaurants Nación Sushi, PF Chang's and Alebrijes y Kalakas. As well as GNC, Moyo, Starbucks and Banco Promérica.

However, he recognized that in the corporate area they still have spaces available for offices.

Aleste is a mixed-use complex that will have three areas within a space where there will be residential buildings with premises for shops, offices, restaurants and an infrastructure to interconnect the different areas.

The first stage of the development is carried out in an area of 42,000 square meters (m²), which is part of an initiative to be carried out in stages on a 67-hectare (670,000 m²) plot. The project's master plan contemplates allocating four hectares for a park with space for vegetable gardens and a lake.
