COSTA RICAN DELEGATION ATTENDS THE MOST IMPORTANT FAIR OF THE MEDICAL DEVICE INDUSTRY IN THE UNITED STATES

San José, April 13, 2022. From April 12 to 14, four advanced manufacturing companies and three companies that develop industrial and business parks from Costa Rica will participate in the most important fair for the medical device industry in the United States. in the city of Anaheim, California. The delegation is accompanied by representatives of PROCOMER and the Costa Rican Coalition of Development Initiatives (CINDE) and they are the firms: ATL Technology, Precision Concepts Health Care, Microtechnologies, Utitec Medical, Zona Franca Coyol, CR Green Valley and Zona Franca La Lime. The four participating companies are also ISO 13485 certified and represent an offer aimed at the medical device industry that ranges from precision mechanics, injection molding, electromechanical assemblies, as well as complex medical equipment subassemblies and assemblies, among others. The General Manager of PROCOMER, Pedro Beirute Prada, recalled how in 2021 exports of medical devices reached $5,112 million; the maximum value achieved by this category of products. It was also a growth of 34% compared to 2020, with the United States being the main market. “This fair allows us to position Costa Rica's advanced manufacturing capabilities in medical devices, as well as the set of conditions in the country and the business ecosystem for attracting foreign investment. It is also a space that puts supplier companies and manufacturing contractors in contact with key people in the product supply and value chains,” Beirute commented.
