As part of the actions for the benefit of the community and the economic reactivation of the country, Costa Rica Green Valley implements actions that strengthen human talent in the western area and throughout Costa Rica.

On this occasion, students interested in participating in the project will be sponsored: Formula 1 in Schools, where young people will put their comprehensive learning to the test and develop new skills. They will have to build a Formula 1 vehicle and make a presentation of their project. The panel of judges will evaluate and choose a winning person among all the schools taking into account several variables, such as: written work, creativity, marketing, presentation, among other aspects.

This is the first edition of the Formula 1 in Schools project, where 20 schools in the country will participate, with the representation of 28 teams (some educational centers have two or more teams), with approximately 160 students.

This initiative arises from the high demand for professionals that companies located mainly in free zones are in need of with greater urgency. Only 13% of college graduates in the country currently exit STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) careers. The idea is to provide a space for young people to be interested in these careers and have the tools to develop professionally in one of them.

“In addition to sponsoring the F1 in Schools program that includes the 20 participating schools, Portafolio Inmobiliario is the main sponsor of the Naranjo Professional Technical College (CTP de Naranjo). This sponsorship consists of supporting two teams from each educational center so that they can make their prototype F1 vehicle in their respective schools, with the help of their assigned mentor and their sponsor”, expressed Arnoldo Estrada, Director of the Costa Rica Green Valley project.

The CTP de Naranjo is a recognized technical college located in Naranjo, Costa Rica. The institution has a long history of providing quality technical education and preparing students for successful careers in various STEAM fields.

“At the Real Estate Portfolio we firmly believe in making significant contributions to the communities in which we operate. By sponsoring the Formula 1 in Schools project, we directly contribute to the development of future leaders and professionals who will contribute to the growth and success of Costa Rica and the Costa Rica Green Valley community. As part of our ongoing efforts to support education and foster innovation, Costa Rica Green Valley will contribute US$4,000 to the Formula 1 in Schools project,” said Estrada.

This investment will help provide each student with valuable hands-on experience in engineering, design, and teamwork. The sponsorship began in June 2023 and will end in August 2023, with the completion of the project and the competition. It is a unique opportunity to explore the potential of students in fields related to science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).

The Formula 1 in Schools project will allow its participants to improve their critical thinking, problem solving and collaboration skills, which are essential to achieve professional success.

“This initiative will be very beneficial for the companies that will settle in Costa Rica Green Valley when they need to hire professionals from said careers. Besides. This project is closely aligned with the sustainability strategy of the Real Estate Portfolio. We are committed to promoting sustainable development and investing in projects that foster innovation, education and social welfare. By supporting initiatives such as the Formula 1 in Schools project. Through our sponsorship, we hope to inspire young minds, foster their pursuit of knowledge and innovation in STEAM careers, and contribute to a bright future for Costa Rica," concluded Estrada.
