Avenida Escazú becomes the first mixed-use project in the Costa Rican territory to implement the new Red Inbuilding (DAS) technology.

It is a state-of-the-art system - 5G Ready - multi-operator, which expands mobile communication indoors and allows users to talk, navigate, socialize in all spaces: basements, elevators and remote places where the mobile signal is not. typically present.

Among the most tangible initial benefits are: maintaining a conversation without interruptions and anywhere within Avenida Escazú, avoiding uncomfortable cuts and loss of signal. In addition, in the short term with the entry of 5G, there will be other advantages such as extended reality services, speeds 20 times faster than LTE and the implementation of the Internet of Things (IoT), among others.

Johnny Jaikel, project director of the Real Estate Portfolio, explains that they have always been looking for ways to innovate, create value for the community and tenants. We were the first mixed-use project in Costa Rica. We are the first Portfolio project that is certified carbon neutral and today we are including this technology that comes to improve people's quality of life.

“This new technology will distribute the telephone signal through the Avenida Escazú building, allowing users to navigate without interruptions while they are in an elevator or in areas where they usually do not reach completely. We believe this is of great value for all users,” he explains.

Renlan, carrier neutral infrastructure for mobile operators, has invested approximately US$450,000 in this project.

“How many of us pay for a mobile service, that we only receive partially, depending on where we are? The purpose of this launch is to make the tenants, partners and friends of Portafolio Inmobiliario and Claro aware of the start of this innovative service. Many tenants have noticed the increase in signal quality in inaccessible places, until now, without knowing the reason for this improvement in their communications. The Inbuilding Network is designed to serve, simultaneously, the entire resident and visitor population of Avenida Escazú multiplied by three,” said Antonio Ferguson, an expert in this technology.

The implementation of this technology in Avenida Escazú took around two months, once the equipment arrived in the country.
