San Jose Costa Rica. January 18, 2022. C3 Cariari Corporate Center, known as the old Real Cariari, continues its transformation and remodeling process after having
been acquired by Portafolio Inmobiliario since 2018. Final delivery is expected in mid-March 2022.

“In Real Estate Portfolio we are proud to be pioneers in the country of global trends that seek to potentiate commercial spaces that are declining and transform them into mixed-use projects with high quality standards for the establishment of world-class offices, seeking to be catalysts that transform cities in urban spaces that provoke pride and belonging”, commented Alfredo Volio, executive director of the company.

To complete this remodeling, a contest will be held in partnership with the Tu Ciudad tu Lienzo cultural initiative. This will be aimed at muralists who are interested in intervening the facade of the building. The registration process will begin during the month of January and its concept will be focused on "The city that is transformed", in line with the development pillars of the Real Estate Portfolio

“We want to involve the community, put this C3 transformation process on the map, match the launch of the project with the launch of the mural,” said Arnoldo Estrada, Project Director of the C3 Cariari Corporate Center.

"Your City, Your Canvas" is a citizen initiative of cultural management and urban beautification that, through an open call, has allowed in recent years the intervention of high-visibility metropolitan spaces, with a curated and participatory selection. Throughout this contest muralists will provide advice on the artistic part thanks to their experience in the art of cities.

“The city is an entity in constant transformation and we have to re-think the way we build cities. Having the opportunity to get involved in a project that promotes the development of a sustainable, safe, healthy, habitable city that is also prepared to innovate through urban art for the appreciation of its users and neighbors, is an opportunity and a paradigm shift. of which we definitely want to be a part”, assured Mauricio Herrera Palma, Project Manager and Developer, San José Lab & Your City: Your Canvas.

It is estimated that between 100 and 150 work proposals will be received, of which 10 will be shortlisted. From this shortlisting, a Facebook album will be created, where the public can be
one more judge on the final qualifying panel of approximately 10 people.

“The project aims to facilitate the incorporation of contemporary urban planning concepts such as tactical interventions, the 15-minute city, sustainable mobility and the post-covid city, among others. Urban beautification invites citizens to connect with the city that surrounds them from the appreciation of art. In addition, it offers a unique component where citizens are invited to vote via social networks for the mural they like the most, giving people a rare opportunity to express their opinion about the form, content and spirit of the city they inhabit,” added Herrera.

The artist of the winning work will make the mural, therefore, the contestants must be muralists with the ability to execute it by themselves. The finalist will receive $7,500 USD in
cash as a prize.
